Current project on knitting machine from Ashley Paige’s book Sexy Little Knits.

The trick with this project was to figure out how to make the mesh which is a basic K2tog YO. I had a break-through yesterday and figured that instead of picking up yarn between the stitches and putting it onto the empty needles I needed to just leave the needle empty after transfering the stitch onto the needle next door for the K2tog. For 124 st this is quite time consuming, but then the purl back is just a pull of the carriage, so I save time there. This will be a slower process than I initially assumed, but still faster than manually. Plus, now I can have a project on my regular needles and a project on the machine.

Eventually I will transfer the mesh to a pair of needles and finish the top portion by hand. But in the meantime I have 4ft. of mesh to complete. The trick there will be to make sure the guage stays the same between the machine and my hand which tends to be loose.
